Coming to Australia in the 1980s, how did she adjust to being accepted in this country?


In the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak and following the federal government's ban on holding indoors gatherings with the presence of 100 or more people, some Harmony Day celebrations - which are celebrated in Australia every 21 March - that were planned by communities in Australia must also be canceled.

Lucy Surtandi, Public Officer of the Indonesian Community Council (ICC) of New South Wales, spoke about this, as well as her experience living in Australia for more than 30 years as someone whose background is Chinese-Indonesian.

Lucy also shares on how the coronavirus that has alarmed Australians is said to be the "Chinese virus".
