Political and community leaders are urging the Muslim community to maintain social distancing protocols ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, which begins tomorrow.

Ramadan is usually a time for reflection and to gather with family and friends to pray and break fast.

But this year will look very different.

The coronavirus has forced mosques to close their doors and festivities to be cancelled.

Political and community leaders such as New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian are urging people to mark the holy month - from home.
