What do the audiences say about this year's Tembang Nusantara in Melbourne?

Held at RMIT University, the 2025 Tembang Nusantara event, presented by Aneka Ria Melbourne and themed “Symphony of a Generation”, took place on 16 August 2025.

This annual showcase featured twelve regional songs from across Indonesia, from Sabang to Merauke - including “Bengawan Solo”, “Soleram”, and “Apuse”.

What set this year’s edition apart was its cross-generational collaboration on a single stage and a seamless blend of musical theatre and dance.

SBS Indonesian spoke with organising committee member Rizqie Muhammad Ihsan and two attendees, Syarifah Ramani Putri and Lajuventi Pannu, to learn more about the event.
