Heavy rains that hit northern NSW in February has caused some schools to be flooded and lost their teaching aids, including the ones for Indonesian language. One organisation is trying to help and reverse this condition.
Heavy rains that flushed the north side of NSW in February has caused flash flooding in several areas. Schools also lost their teaching materials due to the floods, including several schools that teach Indonesian language.
Michael Kramer is on the education subcommittee of the Australia Indonesia Association (AIA) of NSW. He said that his organisation is carrying out an initiative to collect Indonesian language learning materials to be distributed to some of the flood-affected schools.
Mr Kramer said that this move is in line with one of AIA's purposes which is to promote Indonesian language in schools in NSW. He also urged people to get involved.
