The danger of bushfires still threatens some areas in Australia and one could be close to where we live. What should be prepared and done when such an emergency takes place?

Suhesti Dwiningsih, who is fondly called Hesti, lives with her husband and beloved dog in the Kempsey area in NSW.

She speaks to SBS Indonesian on how she got a warning to evacuate on 12 November when the bushfires was only 4km from her house, and what action she took afterwards.

Hesti, who at the time was alone with her dog at home, also shares advice on what should be prepared and done when such an emergency threatens our lives.
