The Jewish people of Manado are a minority. There are about 30 of them. They are free to practise their religion and they offer and receive inter-faith support. Why is this different to some other parts of Indonesia?


During Ramadhan the Jewish community invited members of the Moslem community to break their fast at the Shaar Hashamayim synagogue, the only synagogue in Indonesia.  Different members of the Manado community explain to KBR 68H why their society has successfully avoided religious conflict.
