Venice, from high to low tide

Most of you would remember that only a couple of months ago, on November the 12th, the high tide in Venice reached extreme levels when hit the historical record of 187 cm above sea level.

But at this moment the city is dealing with the opposite phenomenon, the low tides that occur in early January.

This year the as the Municipality of Venice reports, low tides are reaching -45 centimeters, making the canals of the lagoon impossible to navigate at certain times of the day for traditional gondolas.

It is a big problem for the whole Venice as its canals are its streets.
