Over 80% of bushfires in Australia are caused by the action of human beings, half of them are deliberate. But who are the people responsible for these tragedies? To talk about it, we contacted Marco De Sisto, who has worked for years in the Italian fire department as a profiler.
Once he arrived in Australia, De Sisto obtained the qualification of manager of fire investigators in Victoria before entering the academic world. Today he is a lecturer at the RMIT School of Management in Melbourne. We first asked him what the job of "arsonist profiler" entails and how it can assist during the Australian bushfire season.
