Friday at 7.30pm on SBS Food - Made In Italy With Silvia Colloca

This episode, Silvia Colloca takes in the fresh sea air of San Benedetto del Tronto and discovers the secrets behind fritto misto, an Italian seaside speciality. She travels to Ascoli Piceno to witness the creation of some of the country’s finest ricotta. Inspired by her experience she heads home to Torricella and transforms luscious curds of ricotta into a sensational ricotta, chocoalte and cherry tart. Silvia then calls on the local wine of Abruzzo to make magnificent savoury Italian waffles.

Saturday at 12.15am on Viceland - Undressed Italy

Kelum meets Sabrina and Matteo meets Cristian. Kelum and sabrina are quite different - he’s a 29-year-old lad from Sri Lanka, while she is a 19-year-old girl from Milan. At first the two seem to have a good feeling thanks to their exuberant personalities. Their lack of inhibition has allowed them to have a pleasant conversation, even though they seemed to have different opinions.

While the Medici are in exile in Venice, the situation deteriorates day by day in Florence, with Albizzi imposing his rule over a city gravely depleted by the absence of the Medici. Contessina remains alone in the city, where she is at risk, but Cosimo is too busy to defend himself from Venetian plots or to find a way to safeguard his wife’s fate. Meanwhile, Contessina encounters Ezio Contarini, a childhood sweetheart she has never forgotten.

Monday at 2.00pm on SBS Food - A Gondola On The Murray

Stefano’s restaurant is in Mildura, a provincial city on the banks of the ‘Mighty Murray’ river, the longest in Australia that, in this part of the country, winds its way through desert and irrigates the region known as Sunraysia. Travelling with Stefano on an old bicycle, we meet wonderful local characters like Mrs Mazello whose eggs are so big she calls them rooster eggs. Stefano uses them to make his homemade pasta - pasta fatta in casa. The Murray River is home a delicious fresh-water fish, the Murray cod. By the banks of the Murray River, on a gnarled fallen gum tree, Stefano steams to perfection a fresh cod caught for him that day by a local fisherman. But a cook’s life is not always so free and simple - that night, with guest chef Tony Tan, Stefano prepares a sumptuous banquet for the Mildura Arts Festival.

Monday at 8.30pm on SBS Food - Two Greedy Italians

Chefs Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo tour Italy to discover how their home country's culture has changed since they left more than 40 years ago, and how this has affected the way the population eats. Beginning in Emilia Romagna, the home of prosciutto and parmesan cheese, the pair have Sunday lunch with a traditional family, before meeting a group of career women in Bologna who do not cook at home any more.
