Valentino Balboni started working for Lamborghini in 1968, as a mechanic apprentice, just five years after the car manufacturer was established by founder Ferruccio Lamborghini.
He started test-driving newly built cars alongside Bob Wallace. Since then, Balboni has reportedly driven about 80% of all Lamborghinis ever built.
In July 2009, Lamborghini announced a special edition run of 250 Gallardo LP550-2 "Valentino Balboni edition", a rear-wheel driven.
