Did you lately experienced throat irritation, headache or burning eyes? 

Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and many other centers in the southeast area of the continent have been surrounded by smoke from the bush fires and in some cases, even perfectly healthy people have had breathing difficulties.

What are the chemicals to which we are or have been exposed and why are they harmful?

We asked Emiliano Moroni, environmental engineer who worked for the CNR air pollution institute in Italy, to explain the smoke pollution and what are its consequences.
