One of the most interesting films at this year 20th edition of the Lavazza Italian Film Festival, which opened last night in Sydney, is "Aspromonte - The land of the forgotten", written and directed by Mimmo Calopresti.
The director tells a story linked to his birthplace, Calabria, and in particular describes the reasons for a popular revolt set in the 1950s in the small mountain village of Africo. Mimmo Calopresti visited our studios and we asked him to tell us about the film, which is exceptionally screened in Australia even before its release in Italy.
