Cannes 2019: zombie, emerging female directors and rock

For the first time in its 72-year history, Cannes Film Festival has a film directed by an African woman in its main competition.

The 2019 kermesse's president, Mexican Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, has launched the French Festival with Jim Jarmusch movie on zombie " The Dead Don't Die".

For the first time in its 72-year history, Cannes Film Festival has a film directed by an African for the Palme d’Or.
