Italian conductor Carlo Montanaro talks about his vision of the current production of Jules Massenet's opera Werther on stage at the Sydney's Opera House until 11 March.
The 2019 cast includes Russian contralto Elena Maximova as Charlotte and american tenor Michael Fabiano in the leading role of Werther who has been welcomed with a warm standing ovation after his first performance.
