Carlo Buontempo, Director at the EU Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), analyses some alarming data on climate change.

According to the authors of the article "Climate tipping points. Too risky to bet against", published on the journal Nature, the planet is approaching nine important climate points of no return, the so-called "tipping points".

Furthermore, according to the new report of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), unless global greenhouse gas emissions decrease by 7.6 percent each year between 2020 and 2030, the planet will not reach its target in reducing global warming by 1.5 ° C, as set by the Paris Agreement.

SBS Italian asked Carlo Buontempo, director of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) of the European Union, to analyse the latest alarming data on environment and climate change.
