“Dad was a sailor, when we did see him, it was a party!"

Born in Taranto, Rita Picone-Di Giovanni arrived in Australia at the age of nine with her mother, a sister and a brother in April 1960. Papa Rino had left for Australia 18 months earlier to organise accommodation for the whole family .
