Italian director Stefano Vizioli visited the Western Australian outback for inspiration for his new opera.

Stefano Vizioli, artistic director of the Teatro Verdi of Pisa, and conductor and composer Aaron Carpenè are working on an original opera that will blend Francesco Cavalli's 1651 La Calisto, traditional music of the Yamaji People of W.A. and the SKA radio-telescope in the Murchison desert.
