On August 5 the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games will be officially opened. Many know Rio only by the images of tropical beaches and samba dancers - or violent slums and poverty - spread globally each time the media deals with Brazil. We asked our correspondent Andrea Ciacchi, who has lived in the South American country for over twenty years, to walk us through the "wonderful city", as the locals like to call it.
