Flinders University Senior Lecturer, Dr Luciana D'Arcangeli, recently won an award by the Italian Institute of Culture in Melbourne for the best literary translation of the year.

It’s a translation from Italian into English of the Wu Ming short story "Momodou", taken from the anthology "Crimini Italiani" by Giancarlo de Cataldo.

The jury found that "The text posed several challenges, including a variety of registers and colloquial forms. The winning translation has addressed these challenges in an exemplary manner. The English version will bring the important and moving account written by Wu Ming to a new audience when it will be published next year in the journal of the Australian Association for Literary Translation ".
