Cristina Ferrari was the first female artistic director of an opera theatre in Italy and she is now responsible for the Fondazione Teatri di Piacenza, a highly dynamic artistic establishment than includes Piacenza's Teatro Municipale, Sala dei Teatini, Teatro del Filodrammatici and Teatro San Matteo.


Cristina Ferrari completed her musical studies graduating in piano at the Giuseppe Nicolini Conservatorium of Piacenza and subsequently in opera singing at the Arrigo Boito Conservatorium of Parma. She dedicates particular attention to the discovery, formation and enhancement of young talents, including young composers.

Cristina Ferrari is regularly invited as a judge to some of the most prestigious international opera singing competitions.
