In collaboration with the Byron Writers Festival 2019, Melbourne’s Italian Institute of Culture presents Italian writer Gianrico Carofiglio at Elm Tree House interviewed by Kylie Doust, Graduate Researcher at La Trobe University.

The talk will be conducted in English and will take place on Tuesday 13 August at 6.30pm..

Carofiglio was born in Bari in 1961 and worked for many years as a prosecutor specialising in organised crime. He was appointed advisor of the anti-Mafia committee in the Italian parliament in 2007 and served as a senator from 2008 to 2013.

He is one of Italy’s bestselling authors: his books have sold more than five million copies in Italy and have been translated into 27 languages. His latest novel is “The Cold Summer”.

The author will also appear at the Byron Writers Festival (2-4 August). We interviewed the author just days before he boarded a plane to Australia.
