Emma Jane is Australian but she is married to an Italian man. Together they decided to raise their kids bilingual.
When their first child Alessandro was born, Emma and Luca decided to speak Italian at home. Emma is Australian, but she was already fluent enough to do that. After a few years, worrying about Alessandro's English, she decided to leave it to her husband to keep up the Italian language for the kids, who were by then two.
Alessandro and his sister Poppy understand Italian very well, but noticing that both kids tend to reply in English, Emma wonders if her decision was the right one.
