While we are living uncertain times, in which stress and worries related to the coronavirs emergency weigh on our daily activities, it is essential to take care of ourselves and to dedicate time to the physical, as well as the emotional and the psychological well-being.
A balance that becomes even more important during pregnancy, as Anna Castellarin, yoga instructor, knows well.
The practice of yoga and meditation have taught Anna over the years to juggle in times of stress and even more so today, as a future mum. "In addition to having studied prepared yoga, I have used my pregnancy in recent months to practice what I have learned, so I am studying yoga on myself with the adjustments to be made during pregnancy."
“Because of the coronavirus epidemic, all the activities for mums-to-be and courses are suspended. I felt very distant from everything and everyone. I thought of all future mothers who, like me, find themselves in this situation but who perhaps do not have the opportunity to practice yoga or to know what the pelvic floor is for example, or many small things that as a yoga teacher I am lucky to know", Anna told SBS Italian, "These practices are helping me to better understand the moment I am experiencing and how my body is changing."
Anna decided to connect with other future mothers, to "be able to help, in my own small way, in this situation that seems so incredibly surreal to all of us". The silver medalist at the 2015 Italian Yoga Championships, holds lessons via youtube and on her website in English, at 10 AM AEST, and in Italian and at 6 PM AEST.
