Proud bilinguals takes us to WA.

Kara Bertoncini was born in Perth. Her father was a 7 year old boy when his family moved down under from Lucca, in Tuscany, whereas her mother was born in Australia but her family is originally from Vasto, in Abruzzo.

With such parental influence, Kara grew up surrounded by Italian language and culture. Except she lost the habit of speaking the language until she lived for a few months in Pieris (Friuli), where she was forced to speak because there "nobody could speak English".
