Iowa caucuses: chaos and surprise were the real stars

Pete Buttigieg has emerged as the surprise early leader in the race to become the United States Democrats' candidate for this year's presidential election.


With almost two-thirds of the vote counted in the Iowa caucus, the 37-year-old holds a narrow lead over Bernie Sanders with about 27 per cent support. The count has been delayed by voting glitches, with officials blaming ballot technology for the chaos.

We talked about the race to become the United States Democrats' candidate and the results of the impeachment of Donald Trump, who is also preparing the speech for the 2020 State of the Union with journalist Giampiero Gramaglia.
