The Mardi Gras Film Festival, which coincides with the celebrations for Sydney's Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras, kicks off tomorrow Thursday 13 February. This year the festival, organised by Queer Screen, also includes an Italian film: "Croce e delizia" (translated into English as "An Almost Ordinary Summer"), directed by Simone Godano.

In the film legendary Italian actors, Alessandro Gassman and Fabrizio Bentivoglio, play two middle-aged fathers who one day surprise their respective children - played by Filippo Scicchitano and Jasmine Trinca - revealing to them that they have fallen in love. It is a comedy full of twists that has had great success in Italy. We interviewed the director, Simone Godano.
