The "return" of Tasmanian-Italians, between history and new initiatives.

The Italian community in Tasmania saw its golden age between the 60s and 70s, when thousands of Italians and other European immigrants reached the island to build the large power plant.

In the following decades, there was a progressive drop in numbers but lately something seems to have changed.

The new generation of Italians in Tasmania came forward and, with the help of the local institutions and the Italian Hobart Club, to start many new initiatives.

Serena Zito, recently moved to Australia, started the process after a meeting with Dino Ottavi a member of the Italian Club Committee.
