Irish background Hannah Lewis begun studying Italian following her mother's example.

"Few years ago, If you lived in Northcote knowing how to speak Italian was essential, even if you weren't Italian", Hannah Lewis tells SBS Italian.

Inspired by her mother, who learned Italian when she was young and the area north of the Melbourne CBD was Italian territory, Hannah followed her steps and became an Italian teacher.
