Mahmood wins but not everyone is happy

The winning song at the recent Sanremo Festival is by Mahmood, an Italian-Egyptian singer. His win has triggered a fiery debate in Italy.


The choice of the winner of the 69th edition of the Sanremo Festival has been criticised by many, including Italy's vice premier Matteo Salvini.

While for some the issue lies with the musical quality of the song othersseem to question Mahmood's Egyptian background.
