MAIKI, an Italian archaeological mission in the Iraqi Kurdistan

The director of an Italian archaeological mission in the Iraqi Kurdistan explains how the team has been working on the project since 2006 and how they overcame the challenges of working in the area immediately after the end of the war.

Carlo Giovanni Cereti, Professor at the Department of Ancient World Studies at the Sapienza University of Rome, is the director an Italian archaeological mission in the Iraqi Kurdistan funded by AICS, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. 

Professor Cereti explains what they've been able to achieve and what obstacles they had to overcome since the beginning of the mission in 2006.
