Freed refugee Hakeem Al-Araibi has told how he was stunned to be greeted like an international superstar on his return to Melbourne.
Australian-based refugee footballer Hakeem Al-Araibi has arrived back in Australia after his release from a Bangkok prison, after Bahraini authorities dropped an extradition case against him.
His teammate at Pascoe Vale football club Matteo Ballan was at the Melbourne airport to greet him back and tells SBS how Hakeem survived for three months in a Thai jail.
