On January 16, the website of the Italian Consulate in Sydney published the announcement of new Amendments to the Citizenship Act N. 91/1992.
The new elements of the citizenship law are:
- application fee has increased from Euro 200 to Euro 250;
- knowledge of the Italian language has been introduced as a requirement, to prove at the moment of application;
- the deadline for concluding the administrative procedure for granting citizenship by the Ministry of the Interior has been modified from 2 to 4 years.
