The federal government has secured an international deal to locally produce a potential coronavirus vaccine, should trials succeed.
The government has signed an agreement with British pharmaceutical company AstraZenica to secure Oxford University's potential COVID-19 vaccine, should it prove successful, safe, and effective in trials.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison says while it's among the most promising and advanced vaccines in development in the world, there's no guarantee any will be successful.
The Pm says that if the vaccine is proven to work, the government will begin manufacture of it as soon as possible, and make it free for all Australians.
