Nicolò Ricucci and his wife Laura launched themselves into the unknown when they moved to Griffith, but they have been rewarded.

Nicolò wanted to pursue a career in language teaching but in the end opted for one in the IT sector. Born in Vigevano, near the industrial and commercial city of Novara, he found stable work with an IT company and kept in touch with his childhood friend, Emanuele, who kept inviting him to move to Australia.

His wife Laura was the first to seriously consider the move and went to Ireland to study English, while Nicolò preferred Skype lessons online.

Opting for a Working-Holiday-Visa, Laura and Nicolò moved to Australia ending up working in Griffith, where he later received sponsorship for his Permanent Visa through a local IT company.

Nicolò has founded the social media group Italians in Griffith and is now helping other young compatriots to make a similar move.
