Cardinal Pell's appeal against his sentence was rejected by the Supreme Court of Victoria. The 78-year-old will have to serve the remainder of his sentence for sexual assault in detention.
George Pell was convicted last December of the 1996 rape of a 13-year-old boy and sexual abuse of another.
