"The Occasional Demon" is a compilation of several poems by Italian author and Auschwitz survivor Primo Levi translated by Marco Sonzogni and Harry Thomas.

The book will be officially launched in Sydney by Victoria University of Wellington's professor Marco Sonzogni at the Italian Cultural Institute tomorrow (30 January).

The event has been organised in cooperation with the Great Synagogue of Sydney to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp by Soviet troops on 27 January 1945.

Rabbi Dr Benjamin Elton, Chief Minister of The Great Synagogue of Sydney, and UTS' professor Alice Loda are guest speakers at the launch.
