In recent weeks, the "Real Madrid" combination has resounded on the front pages of the international press for two reasons: Real Madrid has won another La Liga football championship, and the Teatro Real de Madrid was the first major international theatre to raise the curtain resuming the artistic activity.

The world has been waiting for the first move and the Teatro Real de Madrid  has done so in style staging Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata, in full respect of social distancing regulations. The hope is that other major theatres (and governments) around the world follow the Spanish example and raise the curtains resuming their artistic and cultural activity.

Italian tenor Ivan Magrì is part of the international cast that the Teatro Real de Madrid has assembled for the re-opening of the season with Verdi's La Traviata.

"I suffer for all the victims of the pandemic, but also for all my colleagues around the world who are without work and losing hope for their future", he says.
