RECIPROCO/reciprocal brings together five contemporary Australian artists of Italian origin and five contemporary artists from Italy to create new works in iconic venues of Carlton.


Artists and curators of reciproco/reciprocal Laura Cionci and Domenico De Clario talked to us about the art project involving five contemporary Australian artists of Italian origin and five contemporary artists from Italy.

Italo-Australian artists Eugene Carchesio, Angela Cavalieri, Damiano Bertoli, Domenico de Clario and Wilma Tabacco were paired with Italian artists Angelo Bellobono, Alessandro Cannistrà, Laura Cionci, Rocco Dubbini and Luana Perilli.

Each pair is to collaborate to create a new work in multiple locations across the Carlton heritage precinct including, Readings, Co.As.It, Brunetti's, Melbourne General Cemetery and La Mama Theatre.

Please note that there has been a last minute change in the ‘reciproco’ program- the 8.30pm performance at La Mama, on 11, 12, 13 April 2019 has now been cancelled.
