On the morning of February 8, 2020, accordionist Angelo Marchese passed away in Melbourne.

Of Lucanian origins, born in 1934, Marchese emigrated to Australia in 1960 to reach Dora who soon became his wife. The love for music united them since they were kids; a life "played" together, he on the accordion and she on the mandolin.

Very well known in the Italian Australian community of Melbourne, the couple played a fundamental role for the Italian music of yesterday and today in Australia .

Elvira Andreoli, voice of the band The Rustica Project, remembered Marchese and his teachings during their ten years of friendship and artistic collaboration.
