Russia at the peak of its coronavirus epidemic

Russia is the fifth country in the world for COVID-19 cases, according to the John Hopkins University.


After an initial phase of the pandemic, during which Russia had managed to avoid the dramatic numbers of other European nations, it had rapidly become the fifth country in the world by number of cases.

The pandemic is growing at the rate of over ten thousand new cases per day, according to the Russian anti-coronavirus task force, the total number of positives has exceeded 177 thousand.

The correspondent from Moscow, Giuseppe D’Amato, has more.
