At the annual Pontida gathering, League leader, Matteo Salvini launched his challenge to the Conte Government, announcing tough opposition and two referendums, but the event was marred by episodes of intolerance by League militants towards a left-leaning newspaper and a Jewish journalist.
But there are also problems for M5S-PD government, with a veiled threat by former leader Matteo Renzi to leave the Dems and found his own party. Carlo Fusi, editor of Italian newspaper “Il Dubbio”, reports.
