The department of Italian studies in Western Australia turns 90

The University of Western Australia opened the first department of Italian Studies in 1929.


University of Western Australia Professor John Kinder will start a series of special events next week to celebrate an important anniversary.

Italian Studies at UWA turn 90 this year.

The first event will be held on March 20 at the Fox Lecture Theatre of the UWA Arts Building. The presentation will be dedicated to the history of the Italian presence in WA in the nineteenth century and to the founder of the department.
