The qualifying rounds have seen a record presence of Italians hopeful of making it to the main draw of the tournament. Our interviews.


At the Australian Open, Italy’s Stefano Napolitano won 6-4 7-6 against his friend Matteo Donati and obtained the pass for the second qualifying round, where today he faces American Bjorn Fratangelo.

The 23-year-old from Biella told us what led him to choose a Swedish coach and if Marco Cecchinato – a regular in the top 20 - could be an example for him.

Martina Trevisan also won her first round match against Czech Anastasia Zarycka 6-4 1-6 6-2 and today in the second round she faces Uzbek Sabina Sharipova.

Stefano Travaglia has beaten Slovak Andrej Martin 6-3 6-4 and in the second round he’ll face Japanese Go Soeda.
