Ms Yura immigrated to Australia with her family when she was 10 years old.  Ms Tsukakoshi was born in Sydney and has a Japanese father. They appear in the Sydney Theatre Company's production "Top Coat".

Ms Tsukakoshi plays the main role Winnie, and Ms Yura plays a double role - first generation Japanese immigrant Asami and second generation Yuko.

In the Australian theatre, the stories of social minorities such as Asian-Australians are not told often.  Top Coat is a entertaining comedy but it also uncovers the unseen journeys of main characters multi-directionally, by introducing effective "flips" in the play.

In the audio, Ms Yura talks about the play and her roles, and shares her experience as a young immigrant.  Ms Tsukakoshi also gives a short message in Japanese.
