The human cost of this year's World Cup

In 2022, the pinnacle of the most watched sport in the world returns for its 22nd edition. Only this time, there's a dark side to the beautiful game.

Construction is underway on Monday, Oct. 7, 2019 to complete Lusail's 80,000-seat venue for the opening game and final in a city that didn't exist when Qatar won the FIFA vote in 2010. This year's World Cup in the middle of the desert is one of the most luxurious to be staged.

But while players and spectators will enjoy state of the art facilities in Qatar, advocates are questioning the human cost.
