Will wealthy countries dominate the world's supply of COVID-19 vaccines?

As the vaccine begins to roll out across wealthier countries like the UK and the US, many other countries are reflecting on when they’ll start to see a vaccine.


By paying upfront, before vaccines are ready, a handful of countries have secured more doses than their population needs.

COVAX is a plan trying to ensure that the vaccine doses are distributed around the world fairly. So far, 189 countries are involved, and 92 of them will have their vaccines paid for by donors.
