Morrison says “Ni Hao” in Sydney’s Korean town, Strathfield

An award video Prime Minister Scott Morrison greeted in Chinese to a Korean woman on the street of Sydney Korean town was reported.


Prime Minister Scott Morrison had his first street campaign in Strathfield last weekend. While he greeted locals he said “Ni Hao” in Chinese to an Asian woman and that became an award situation after she responded “No…I am Korean”. 

As Strathfield is one of the biggest Korean towns in Sydney, some people criticised Scott Morrison for being insensitive and reminded him of the perils of the assumption.
