A national initiative encourages locals, refuges and former refugees to walk, run, ride, or roll together, fostering communities where no individual is excluded. At the core of the campaign is You Belong founder Tim Buxton’s remarkable 100-mile run across Kurdistan Region, Iraq, retracing the journey many refugees undertook to flee ISIS.

Move2Belong invites Australians to walk, run, ride, or roll alongside one another - both locals and Waymakers - transforming moments of physical activity into enduring friendships and more robust communities.

At You Belong, the term Waymaker refers to individuals often categorised as refugees, acknowledging their bravery, resilience, and contribution to constructing a new future. This September, the nation will come together for the Move100 challenge - 100 kilometres, 100 minutes, or 100 repetitions of any activity you enjoy, such as running, walking, cycling, dancing, swimming, or skating. Participate solo, with friends, at school, or through your workplace.

Every dollar raised supports You Belong’s innovative efforts to resettle Waymakers into communities that are welcoming, inclusive, and empowering. At the core of the campaign is You Belong founder Tim Buxton’s remarkable 100-mile run across Kurdistan Region, Iraq, retracing the journey many Waymakers undertook to flee ISIS. Accompanied by six teammates, Tim will live stream each mile back to Australia, sharing an authentic, unfiltered narrative of endurance, resilience, and hope in action. it truly does.

“Every step retraces courage. Every kilometre says: you belong. We are running to tear down walls of loneliness, fear, and indifference. Run like it matters because it does,” Tim Buxton founder of You Belong said.
