As an association which aims to improve the employment opportunities for both traditional and contemporary artisans of Macedonia, ESNAF has its sights set on setting up shop in Melbourne and bringing the meticulously crafted works of these creatives to the locals.

Founder of ESNAF, Isabela Sokolovska, says the association cares particularly for disadvantaged artisans who would otherwise have very limited outlets for their work.

Artisans include teenagers, disadvantaged women and even pensioners, dedicated to their craft.

The Association of Macedonian Artisans ESNAF has over 240 members with a strong online presence.

Stefani Taskova, leader Generation M at the United Macedonian Diaspora in Melbourne, says she fully supports ESNAF's philosophy of supporting disadvantaged artists under the one umbrella, who struggle for visibility in the open market place as individual traders.

Both well-known traditional craftsmen and contemporary artisans receive no government assistance and rely heavily on Esnaf to provide access to international markets.

The word 'Esnaf' is a Turkish word which means "guild" or "corporation" ( Wikipedia)
