All time low: Reserve Bank cuts interest rate by 0.25 percent

The Reserve Bank of Australia has moved the cash rate for the first time in nearly three years, with a cut to a new record low of 1.25 per cent.

The big four banks have not yet committed to passing on the cut to borrowers.

The rate has sat at a record low of 1.5 per cent since August 2016.
